Maternity Coverage Isn't Optional

Seema Verma, President Donald Trump's nominee for administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, actually told a Senate committee that she doesn't think it’s important for all health plans to cover maternity care.

If Ms. Verma gets her way, families will have to scour their insurance plans to make sure they cover all the services needed for a healthy pregnancy and baby. Is every test covered? If mom has a high-risk pregnancy, can she see the right provider? If the baby is born preterm, will a stay in the NICU be covered? What a nightmare.

Add your name to send a strong message: ALL women need coverage for maternity care.
